Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (57) announced today that he will resign from the position of the company’s CEO on July 5, and that one of his associates, Andy Jesse, will replace him in that position.
“That date has a sentimental meaning for me,” Bezos said, reminding that on that day in 1994, 27 years ago, the Amazon Corporation was founded, reports AP.
Bezos, whose assets are estimated at 167 billion dollars, will not leave the company, but will dedicate himself to the development of new products and initiatives, and he will be engaged in his space program at Blue Origin, as well as in his daily Washington Post.
Amazon announced today that it is buying the famous Hollywood studio MGM for 8.5 billion dollars.
