Facebook cancels likes and here’s what it means for users
News - Jan 25, 2021
At the beginning the year, Facebook announced that it would cancel the ‘like’ option. But, those collecting likes have nothing to worry about: this option will be cancelled from redesigned public pages used by artists, public persons and brands, and it will continue to be available for other profiles and accounts.
The idea is that Facebook pages feature only followers and they will have a specific-purpose News Feed, where users can join discussions, communicate with peers and contact followers.
This move is explained as a wish to focus on followers in order to streamline the way people connect with their favourite pages.
The option is still not available, but it will soon be introduced gradually.
