Job vacancies in line with needs of the Royal Household are occasionally announced on the Buckingham Palace official site. According to the latest job adverts, it is clear that the Queen definitely keeps up with trends: she is recruiting a ‘Senior Employee Communication Assistant’ in her main residence, the Buckingham Palace.

The job ad is posted by the Royal Household, explaining that successful candidates will ‘lead on the development of our external web and social media presence’.

This person will be responsible for creating posts and videos for employees within the internal network of the Palace, in accordance with official accounts of the Royal Household, in order to keep everyone updated on the latest developments in the royal residence.

– Day-to-day, you’ll manage our social intranet to ensure it’s a ‘must visit’ place for every employee. You’ll co-ordinate news, source and write content, support local editors and be a point of technical know-how – states one of the requirements for the vacant position.

Candidates also have to be highly educated, digitally literate, with a sense for creativity and design, as well as analytically oriented, with creating writing as a plus.

All this is intended to meet the need of continuing connecting and informing 1,200 employees of the Palace, since all of them are currently working from home due to the pandemic.

It is not clear whether a selected candidate will live in the Buckingham Palace or work from home. The salary offered is 27,000 pounds per years, plus benefits, although many people say that working for Her Majesty is a benefit on its own.
