Diesel, a fashion brand, has always had original messages and ads, often directly addressing the young population, as they are its target group. This is also the case with a new ad, which sends a powerful message.
A focus is on a transgender person, who goes a long way of changing sex and finding and accepting him/herself.
A short video titled ‘Francesca; tells a story of transition from a man into a woman. Although there are many clues and symbols indicating where that road leads, the end is still completely unexpected! Check for yourself:
Harlow Monroe, a model, activist and transgender person herself, plays Francesca, who swaps her Diesel jeans for a traditional veil and becomes a Catholic nun.
The video is described as a ‘success life story’ and is created by Publicis Italy, together with Diversity, an organisation promoting social inclusion.
The Diesel brand founder, Renzo Rosso, said that their new campaign establishes the brand values, underlining that ‘individuality, pride, and the power to live as one wants is the ultimate success in life’.
