G Suite becomes Google Workspace, and Gmail gets new logo
News - Oct 12, 2020
G Suite becomes Google Workspace, has new logs and branding, but does not implement other major changes.
The idea is to be clear that Google Workspace is the place where users can get access to tools offered by the company and point to new functions of message sending within Gmail.
Gmail also gets a new logo, which replaces the envelope with a new, more vibrant M logo. The logo design change should mark changes which the services adopted earlier this year, with the implementation of real-time video calls in chats. Google also notes improvements within cooperation tools on the platform.
With these actions, Google aims to beat the competition, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Facebook. Thus Meet video calls are upgraded to Docs, Sheets and Slides, so that users have fewer reasons to switch to another platform.
