Influence marketing will save tourism: Bali engages 4,400 influencers for promotion
News - Oct 06, 2020
Due to the crisis in the tourism sector caused by the pandemic, which is probably the biggest crisis in the history of mankind, the tourism organisation of Bali decided to engage several thousand influencers worldwide to travel across this Indonesian island for free and thus hopefully attract tourists.
Beside free travel, the engaged influencers will be obliged to write blog posts about the places they visited in order to draw a large number of travellers.
– Coronavirus has hit Bali’s economy, social and healthcare sector, including tourism, hard – announced the island’s tourism department, adding that cca 75,000 people in this sector lost their jobs.
As underlined, the aim of the campaign is to promote the New Era of Bali Tourism, with visitors adhering to healthcare guidelines regarding wearing face masks, physical distance and regular hand washing.
Influencers will enjoy free travel in Bali from October until November and post their experiences on SoMe within the ‘We Love Bali’ campaign.
At end-July, Bali opened for tourists from other parts of Indonesia and the plan for opening for foreigners on September 11 failed because of a rise in the number of coronavirus infection cases.
