Viber introduces payment function: Big novelty for its tenth anniversary

Viber is introducing the payment option in chat bots, meaning that users can now acquire goods and services via the app by paying through Google Pay or other available solutions of the mobile e-wallet.
Ukraine is selected as the first country where the function will be activated, with other countries to follow suit in 2021, Rakuten Viber has announced.
Viber states that it is making a big step in finance technologies for its tenth anniversary, as an addition to the existing functions in the area of message exchange.
That move is a milestone in further growth of the comprehensive platform for meeting all needs of its users, with the implementation of the best measures for protecting their privacy.
Viber’s function of payment via authorized chat bots will enable users to pay for products and services of retailers safely and directly.
In case of their bank approves it, users will be obliged to register their debit or credit card in their e-wallet, making the payment option available via any chat bot developed on Viber API interface.
Retailers wishing to accept payments in this manner are connected with a payment service provider supporting this type of financial transactions, create a chat bot on Viber and enable the payment.
